Hi gang,

Just reporting on some upcoming activity. We have a show tomorrow night at Grumpys with The Sunnies, it should be a jolly old time. Come around 9:30 we are playing first.

On February 2nd we will be in Toronto at The Drake Hotel opening for The Boom Show-you can order tickets online here:

http://www.thedrakehotel.ca/happenings/2012/2/2/boom-show-chapter-43/

It will be an “R-rated” comedy show. How exciting!!!! leave the kids at home and come on out!

We are booking a tour of southern Ontario and the Maritimes for late spring, so be prepared to see us in your town!

See you all soon

Text 11 Oct The fall is upon us!!!

Well we had a lovely summer. The train was really fun, it brought us to such new and exciting places as Toronto, and the more tropical land of Vancouver. We met a lot of interesting people on the train: writers, comedians and all around senior citizens :)

Liam and I spent August in beautiful Nova Scotia where we had a fantastic album launch at the Petite Riviere Winery. We also played with our other band MacGyvers Girls who we will tour with in November! WOOT WOO!

In other news we have a new drummer, Guillaume Pilot and he will be performing this coming Monday at Grumpys bar with us at 1242 Bishop. There will be two other acts playing that night also. Mystery acts. We’re going to go there at 9pm come drink a beer with us, or a soda pop. Your choice. the shows free, the beer flows like a waterfall from space, defying zero gravity, and all of our expectations.

Felix bought a record today by Serge Gainsbourg called, “vu de l’exterieur”. Somehow every song makes reference to farting and poo, or scatology as the experts call it.

with that I bid you apoo…I mean adieu!

Text 24 May 1 note Summer Dreams!

Summer days, but AHHHH, oh, the summer nights!

Our next shows are on June 9th and 10th, and we will keep you posted on the details.

Liam and I are getting excited for the train, we have show dates booked in Toronto, with the lovely Laura Boyle, and in Vancouver with VanDriver, and possibly a house party in Victoria!

Then, upon our return and before our departure to the East Coast, we are playing the Dunham Wine Festival, in the townships, and Grumpys bar.

Very exciting indeed. The more you play the more you play, they say.

On a different note, last night I read for hours on the internet about the difference between leather grades. I learned a lot, for instance, Bonded leather (or the hotdog of leather, as I call it) is a mixture of 17% leather scraps with different synthetic materials that are mashed together and rolled into sheets, in a process that is like making paper. Then these sheets are stamped to give the impression of leather. Similar to the hotdog in the way that its a greyish paste before they add food colouring to it. Oh JEESH, you really have to educate yourself in this world, or you’re going to get tricked!

I must say, in leather and meat, price reflects quality. And while I would be happy to buy a used leather jacket for cheap, I hesitsate to buy used meat.

Photo 28 Apr Hi!
Des Here..see me? I’m behind the doggy!
I just got back from South America, where I ate some steak and bought a new instrument called the churango! Its beautiful and handmade and has a really neat sound.
Liam and I are playing a show on May 7th at the Yellow Door cafe. 3625 Alymer.
It will probably be our last official show before we go on the train across Canada playing for the masses, but look for us on Montreal street corners until then… We are going to busk to pay off our internet bill, might take awhile.
Thanks so much to everyone who has been buying our album online and off!
Lots of Love.

Text 8 Feb 1 note Burrows and Tessa Kautzman - live at St. Ambroise Centre (Feb. 18th)

Oh, hello there. You startled me. Anyway, while I have your attention, I’d like to tell you about a show we’re playing next week. It’s at the St. Ambroise Centre in Montreal, home of the best damn beer around. We’ll be playing with the lovely Tessa Kautzman, whose music you can check out at: http://www.myspace.com/tessakautzman

Cover is 5 dollars, but with that you’ll get a small cupped-cake and maybe even a wink from Desiree, (if we like the cut of your jib)

Show starts at 8:00, and should be over with enough time for you to go dance it up at those clubs you like damn so much.
